This is an absolutely superb quality Fassbender large handbag/overnight bag or Gladstone bag style bag. It is large, stunning and in excellent condition. It was made in England by high end leather goods brand Fassbender, which actually gave this style the name 'The Voyager'. This one was sold through a high end store B.Lewis in Picadilly London. The bag looks hardly used, there are very minor marks to the exterior leather but no creasing or wear to the twin handles. The base is protected by gilt bars with some age related tarnish/discolouration. The gilt clasp, a signature style on many Fassbender bags, is still shiny with minimal tarnish or loss of gilt. It opens by pressing down the top of the clasp and using the gilt 'pull' to open the bag. The bag opens fully and remains open like a Gladstone bag, easy for packing or locationg your'stuff'. The inside is great and in pristine condition too, it is lined in a silky black watered silk/grosgrain fabric which is clean with no marks or stains. There is a large pocket with a leather flap in poppy red, which fastens with a popper. There is also a full length zipped pocket. The name 'The Voyager' and the Fassbender logo are embossed in gold on the red flap. The leather B.Lewis Picadilly is sewn into the frame.
This is a fabulous and eye catching handbag, in excellent condition and from top quality high end brand Fassbender. Handbags of this quality were sold in high end stores such as world renowned store Harrods and other high end leather goods stores, like B.Lewis. It would have been very expensive 'back in the day' and bought today a bag of this quality would cost four figures. It is rare and would make a real style statement when used as a daily work bag or overnight bag. Plenty of room for all essentials, iPad etc
