This vintage Waldybag clutch bag in buttercream Luxan hide is absolutely gorgeous, a slim and elegant clutch bag which is very rare in that it has a carry handle that fits tightly around the base of the bag so can be used to carry the clutch as a handbag if required, we have not seen this style at all. It is in virtually pristine condition and suitable for any smart occasion or for evening wear. It is long, slim and elegant with a very pretty bow shaped gilt clasp inset with cream leather which adds to the dainty elegance of the bag. It's beautifully made with great attention to detail, as would be expected of top end brand Waldybag, a brand worn by royalty including HM the Queen. Waldybag handbags are permanently exhibited in the V&A and were featured in the recent 'Bags Inside Out' exhibition. This clutch bag is in superb condition with minimal signs of use or age, the leather to the ouside is pristine with no scratches scuffs or dings, looks and used and to the inside just a very small amount of foxing to the silk lining near the logo and the purse, please see the photos. It has been used but carefully and very well looked after. The lining of the bag is fabulous, it is in two compartments one side lined in oyster silk with matching attached silk coin purse on a gilt chain, the other side in a pale taupe silk. There are gilt satin edged slip pockets which add to the luxury feel of the handbag. The Waldybag brand logo, the earliest version of the logo, is embossed in gilt on the lining.
This is a really fabulous Waldybag clutch bag, über glamorous, made from top quality materials and from top a end brand, what's not to love! A real statement piece which would add the wow factor to any outfit, for smart day or evening wear and could be worn anywhere, however smart. Perfect for weddings, mother of the bride (or groom) or even the bride herself! A fabulous vintage gift for her and we think a future heirloom.
