This is an absolutely gorgeous little vintage gold glitter fabric Waldybag handbag, for evening or special occasions. It has a pretty and dainty triangular shape with gilt clasp and rolled handles, with gold silk piping to corners and the base. This particular handbag has survived in good condition but with some loss of glitter to the outside, particularly to the handles where it's been carried and slight rumpling to the base but there are no major marks or stains to the exterior. The inside has not fared so well and has clearly been well used, with lots of marks from use (please see photos). The lining is oyster silk with one slip pocket, edged in gilt. The gilt frame is still shiny but does have numerous marks, again from use. The Waldybag logo, one of the earliest designs, is embossed in gilt on the silk lining of the handbag but even without seeing the logo one would know that this is quintessentially from the Waldybag brand because of the style and quality of the handbag.
A cute little sparkly Waldybag which would make a gorgeous addition to a vintage or contemporary wardrobe, it is glamour from a byegone age and as Waldybags were the luxe handbags back in the day, worn by royalty and the aristocracy just think what events this will have attended, balls, the opera, Ascot, yet it's understated and it oozes class. It could be used for evening or for smart or formal day wear such as weddings etc. Notwithstanding the condition of the inside and loss of glitter to the outside it's a super little bag and priced to reflect the condition, so get the look for less!
