This is a gorgeous and rare ostrich skin vintage Waldybag, a top quality handbag from a most sought after vintage brand, a brand worn by royalty and exhibited in the V&A museum. This is in excellent condition, it still has the original coin purse on a gilt chain. It's in a really stylish and attractive shape with the curved sides and ostrich leather inset top bar and clasp. The ostrich skin is in excellent condition with minimal marks or scuffs from age or use (please see photos) and no cracking or splits. It has aquired a lovely patina from age. The handle is still firm and strong with minimal creasing and it folds down to the side on a swivel mechanism, handy for storage. There is a tab pull to the front to open it. The gilt clasp and frame have minimum abrasions or loss of gilt and are still shiny. The inside is lined in a pale cream watered silk grosgrain, which is in clean condition with virtually no marks from age or use, (amazing given the age of the bag) please see photos. The very early Waldybag logo is embossed in gilt on the lining. The original mirror is still in the pocket.
A really good quality vintage Waldybag ostrich skin handbag. It would have been a very expensive purchase back in the day. It's been carefully used and very well looked after, who knows the glamorous events it's graced over the years but now it would be perfect to accessorise a contemporary or vintage outfit. It's quality, it looks it and is probably unique, so you can be sure no one else will be wearing the same! And as it's recycled and eco friendly,it ticks all the boxes.
