This is a delightful, pretty and unusual little scarf which has cartoon illustrations of colourful exotic hats throughout the ages with dates from 1613 to 1956 which is when I suspect the scarf was made. I feel it has an American vibe about it, but not being an authority on vintage hats these could be British or European or simply a figment of the illustrators imagination.(1795 reminds us of Dr Seuss's Cat in the Hat). In any event it is in very good condition for a vintage scarf, there are a few marks to the silk, not terribly noticeable, but no pulled threads or snags. It is a difficult colour to describe, not quite a duck egg blue but not grey either. The scarf has a hand rolled edge which is in white to match the background to the individual hats.Lovely.
Worn knotted around the neck, as a head scarf, or tied to your handbag this is definitely one that no one else will have, which is part of the charm of vintage.
