Originally named by Hermès after the über glamorous Hollywood film star Grace Kelly, who bagged her prince to become Princess Grace of Monaco. The name 'Kelly bag' has now become a generic term for this style of ladylike handbag, or 'top handle' bag. Originals are becoming increasingly hard to find in excellent condition. Of the top British names in the industry - Ackery, Fassbender, Waldybag, Widegate, Eros, Rayne, Launer, most ceased trading in the 60s/70s owing to the importation of cheaper mass produced pieces. But for those of us who appreciate their chic, timeless style and renowned British craftsmanship there are still some to be found in mint condition and we aim to bring you the best examples we can find, of the best quality and in the best condition.

Brand Spanking Vintage is a small company based in Kent, England, UK. We are so busy sourcing fabulous vintage handbags and accessories and dispatching them to the far flung corners of the globe that we no longer have the time to pitch up at vintage fairs. However, we retain our banners so that we can attend the occasional event to spread the vintage word. We aim to provide a personal service, so if you are seeking a particular vintage handbag or accessory, or need advice as to what is suitable for a specific occasion or outfit, please feel free to email or phone us as we will be glad to help. If you are buying for someone else
we are happy to gift wrap and enclose a personal message with your purchase.

Postage to UK addresses is free, via Royal Mail first class recorded delivery and we are happy to post worldwide at cost as long as the parcel does not exceed 2Kg. We post to most international destinations via Royal Mail International tracked and signed for service. There are 'add to cart'buttons to pay for shipping to our regular destinations at the foot of this page and for other countries please ask for a postage cost and we will invoice via paypal.
