How fabulous is this Holmes Norwich cherry red patent leather handbag, rhetorical question! We love red patent and they don't come much better than this. It is in one of Holmes of Norwich's most popular dainty little designs, these handbags were made in various colours of patent leather, we have the same style in mustard, brown and grey but the red ones are very rare. This one is in excellent condition with very little sign of use. The only thing which prevents it being described as pristine is the age related discolouration to a small area of the frame near the hinges. This tarnish is confined to discolouration and we have photographed the sides showing this. It is not particularly noticeable in use and in our view doesn't detract at all from the look of the handbag. The rest of the frame to the inside, where it is not covered in patent leather, is bright and shiny with no scratches or marks from use. The round and very tactile clasp is also bright and shiny with very little age related wear and that only visible when inspected closely. The patent leather itself has no abrasions or scuffs to the surface, even the base has minimal signs of wear, it has obviously been very well looked after and stored very well, two tiny dings to the bottom of the front, mea culpa, I was responsible by placing it next to something sharp! The inside is lined in black grosgrain fabric which has a zipped and slip pocket with the Holmes of Norwich label sewn into the fabric. The lining is clean and fresh with no marks or stains, looks new and unused.
