Gorgeous handbag in excellent condition by Freedex. Pretty, capacious and perfect for wearing with Summer dresses. The handbag is in perfect round dolly bag style with soft leather, few creases because the leather is so soft but no wear at all to the corners or the handle. The frame is leather covered, with no scuffs and the clasp in a dark gilt is free of tarnish. The inside of the handbag is lovely. It is lined in a silky grosgrain fabric, in a watered silk effect in a pale rust colour, which is pristine and clean with no marks or stains at all. The original mirror, in it's waxed paper sleeve, is still in the slip pocket as evidence of how little use this handbag has had. The label stating that the handbag is a Freedex model in Real Leather and made in England is sewn in to the lining. It is a very good size too for all essentials and being soft sided is more accommodating than hard bodied bags.
A delightful handbag, quintessentially 50s in design, in a rich and versatile colour (complements both black and brown outfits) it can be dressed up for smart formal occasions, or down for more casual affairs. Increasingly difficult to find in great condition as so many of these have stained linings or age marks, it's such a shame.
