This is a beautiful classic black patent leather top end handbag of excellent quality from the 1950s/60s with a twist of having an inset feature of wavy strips of pearlescent leather, in airforce blue and silver/oyster to the front. It is a gorgeous handbag, really striking and glamorous and with a further added unusual feature of having both gilt and silvertone metal to the handle fixings on the frame. The handbag is in virtually pristine condition, looks unused. The handle is as new, uncreased and firm with the attractive silver/gilt fixings being still shiny with very minimal loss of gilt to the back of the fixings, a few tiny scratches from storage and a minute speck of tarnish, visible on close inspection (please see photos). The patent itself is immaculte no abrasions, scratches or dings, slight creasing to the base which is protected by gilt studs. The inside is lovely, a luxurious pale beige suede which is clean with no marks stains or other evidence of use. There is no brand label but we think it is likely to have been made for Meadows Regent Street as it is very similar in style and quality to others with the Meadows brand label. The handbag is a great size, so will accommodate all essentials but small enough for evening, just.
A classic black patent leather handbag with the blue/silver leather detail to the front, elegant and rare. We also love the two tone handle fixings, perfect if you like matching your jewellery to your accessories, you can wear gold/silver/ white gold with the handbag. This would be the perfect accessory at any event, smart or formal where a statement handbag is required, weddings, the races etc and with a fitted dress or little suit it would look stunning. It's also perfect for any major vintage themed event (think Goodwood Revival or Twinwood). Perfect gift for her.
