A stunning and rare kingfisher blue/green pearlescent leather bag from Meadows of Regent Street. It is rare because of the colour, it is very, very difficult to find such brightly coloured vintage handbags, especially in excellent condition. It’s also difficult to capture the colour as in daylight it looks blue but under artificial light it looks green so difficult to accurately describe the colour. It is also rare because it has the wide flat stitched handles, as opposed to the more usual rolled and stitched or narrow slim handles. It is in excellent condition and of great quality materials and workmanship. The outside has a delicate satin finish with no abrasions or scratches, it looks quite unused so has been very well looked after. The gilt frame and clasp, where visible has no tarnish or loss of shine. The clasp is firm and strong and opens the handbag to a pale mustard calf leather lining which is in pristine condition. The two slip pockets are edged in pearlescent leather to match the outside leather. The Meadows Regent Street label is affixed to the lining.
A fabulous vintage handbag which is in a glorious and rare colour, perfect for adding a pop of colour to any outfit. It is in virtually pristine condition, of excellent quality and suitable to wear anywhere, however exalted, weddings, Christenings, Goodwood Revival, Buckingham palace garden parties or investitures. Suitable to wear with suits, floral frocks or just a simple shift. A real statement piece in a very rare colour and probably unique so a perfect Christmas gift for her.
It is 10.5 x 7" x 2.5"
