This is a gorgeous vintage leather handbag from the 1950s by Lodix 'Handbags of Taste', a top end brand. It has a fabulous and very rare frame and gilt bow clasp which is very sought after. The handbag still retains a matching leather coin purse and even the mirror and original swing ticket. It's in very good rather than pristine condition because of markings to the front caused by bad storage rather than use but still a fabulous handbag and priced to reflect the markings.
It's dainty and ladylike and in very good condition, made in the UK in a burgundy patent leather. It is in a very stylish shape with the bow clasp being the icing on the cake. The burgundy colour is rare. At a glance it looks in great condition but there are marks to the patent leather (please see photos). The inside is lovely, it is a luxurious pale beige suede with the usual Lodix array of slip pockets edged in leather, a matching leather coin purse and the original mirror in its waxed paper sleeve. The Lodix name and motto 'Handbags of Taste' is embossed on the leather above the pockets. Original swing ticket still with the handbag and it is a good size, so will accommodate all essentials.
A rare vintage handbag because of the clasp and matching purse, in a rich deep burgundy wine patent which is stylish, elegant and very glamorous. This would be the perfect accessory for any vintage themed event but equally at home at any event, whether smart or formal, where a statement handbag is required, such as weddings, the races etc notwithstanding the flaws and worn with a flowery frock would be stunning. It's not in perfect condition but it's vintage and in perfect condition it would cost more than twice the price!
It is 11" x 8" x 3"
