This is a really striking and very unusual handbag in a very attractive dark blue patent which we think is leather but cannot be sure, so assume not. It is in an elephant skin style finish which is both unusual and attractive. It is not in as good condition as most of our handbags but it's appearance overall warrants listing it. The patent exterior, to a casual glance, looks perfect but on close inspection there are minor nicks along some edges which have now been polished over so are less noticeable. The main patent sides, surprisingly, have very few scratches or dings.The handles are firm and strong with no cracking and the gilt frame is in good condition with minimal loss of gilt on the clasp, just some rubbing from normal wear and tear.The base of the handbag is protected by four gilt studs. The suede lining shows obvious signs of use but there are no nasty stains. As is shown in the interior photo, there are teeth missing from the zipped pocket so it probably won't close. We have not tried in case it won't open again and an open pocket is more useful than a closed one!
A good quality handbag which would complement masses of outfits and very striking and unusual in appearance. No oneelse will have the same. The lining means it is not gift quality but that's a good excuse to buy it for yourself at a knock down price. Win win...
