This is a gorgeous handbag in a rare and unusual rich dark fuschia pink to burgundy colour. The handbag is in excellent but not pristine condition, it does have a few minor scuffs and scrapes and a few dings to the back of the handbag but we think this is as a result of bad storage over the years rather than use. As stated there are a few minor blemishes to the surface of the handbag and the odd corner. The back is the worst aspect with the dings photographed to show them in the worst light so fortunately they are on the back and not the front. The front has a very attractive centre inset of suede which makes this an attractive and 'ladylike' dainty handbag. There is slight creasing to the leather either side of this inset,on the lower part of the handbag which disappears when the handbag is full.
At a glance the front looks immaculate, it is on closer inspection the marks become apparent. We thought the bag must be Lodix when we saw it as they are renowned for pearlescent handbags but it does not have the logo inside and the lining is not typical Lodix so we assume not. The side gussets are plain leather in the same colour as the pearlescent finish to front and back and are immaculate. The handle has some creases from folding and from the texture of the pearlescent leather but no cracking or evidence of wear. The base is is in excellent condition with just one scuff and a slight bash to a corner only visible when looking at the base. The gilt frame and clasp are scratch and tarnish free with just minimal loss of gilt to the corners of the clasp where it is held to open and close it.The inside is lined in a beige silky fabric which is in pristine condition except for very slight foxing (brown age spots) on the two pockets just visible on the photos of the lining below but no evidence of use.
We think, judging by the condition, that this has probably been used a few times, then put away(not very carefully) for many years. It is not a high end bag, we would say mid range department store quality but it is leather and in a fabulous colour which is very unusual and rare to find. We think that, notwithstanding the dings to the back it is a lovely looking handbag in a rich and suitable to wear to any smart or vintage occasion. It is eye catching and would complement many different outfits whether a formal suit or floral frock.
