SOLD Vintage 50s Frankel & Roth dainty little gold textured lurex evening bag in original box

This is an elegant and dainty little sparkly lurex evening bag with an intricate and dainty gilt frame with textured and cut out feature. It was made in London by Frankel & Roth, an upmarket brand back in the day. The bag has a short gold box chain which folds inside the bag so it can be used as a clutch. The outside is in pristine condition, having been kept boxed since the one occasion (a ball we are told) it was used. The inside is lined in oyster satin with a slip pocket and the label with Frankel & Roth sewn into the lining. The lining is pristine apart from one small mark just inside the bag (seen in the photos). The box has seen better days, a bit squashed but it has done it's job in protecting the little bag.
A quintessential 50s evening bag, a touch of old world glamour which could be used for evenings or equally for smart formal day occasions, perfect for weddings, christenings etc. where something a bit different is called for.
