This is a slim and elegant dark chestnut brown crocodile skin handbag in excellent condition and of superb quality and size, made in England, what's not to love! The handles are rolled crocodile, in excellent condition and firmly attached to the handbag. The crocodile skins to the whole handbag are a mirror (or glazed) high shine finish which are supple with no signs of cracking or splitting. There are minimal scratches or scuffs,even to the base. The back of the handbag has a full width slip pocket which is perfect for tickets, invitations, cards etc and looks quite an attractive feature so the handbag could be worn back to front if wished. The gilt clasp has an inset of crocodile skin. The clasp itself is slim and unobtrusive and has darkended to a dull gilt but with minimal abrasions and no tarnish. The gilt frame which is visible only when the handbag is open does have the odd abrasion but not enough to spoil the look of the handbag. The lining is a pale tan high quality soft calf suede. It is pristine clean with no marks or stains or evidence of use. There is a large zipped pocket, a mirror slip pocket, lipstick pocket and a further full width slip pocket on the opposite side with the fabric 'made in England' label sewn into the side.
This is a gorgeous handbag, classic and classy, it's high end quality and made in England, probably sold through high end department stores 'back in the day'. We love the slim square shape and with the rolled handles it looks quite contemporary for a vintage handbag. At a glance it looks a quality handbag and could be worn absolutely anywhere. It is also a good size for essentials, phone, keys, even a Kindlein a case... Perfect gift for her.
