Why 'Kelly' bags?
We are a little obsessed with Kelly bags! Originally named by Hermès after the über glamorous Hollywood film star Grace Kelly, who bagged her prince to become Princess Grace of Monaco. The name 'Kelly bag' has now become a generic term for this style of ladylike handbag, or 'top handle' bag and now often called 'Mad Men' or 'Mrs Maisel' bags after those TV series.

Originals are becoming increasingly hard to find in excellent condition. Of the top British names in the industry - Ackery, Fassbender, Waldybag, Widegate, Eros, Rayne, Launer, most ceased trading in the 60s/70s owing to the importation of cheaper mass produced pieces. But for those of us who appreciate their chic, elegant and classic style and renowned British craftsmanship there are still some to be found in mint condition. We aim to bring you the best examples we can find, of the best quality and in the best condition.
