This is a very rare and fabulous vintage mottled rust/copper/brown patent leather handbag made by high end British company Lodix (motto 'handbags of taste') a company well known for making handbags in pearlised or patent leather, often with dramatic lucite decorated frames. This one is beautiful, it is in excellent, virtually pristine condition, with very age/storage related minor lessening of shine to the patent leather here and there including on the base and a few small marks but because of the mottling these are only noticeable on close inspection. The gilt frame is absolutely gorgeous, so pretty and one of our favourite designs with the intricate and dainty bow detail incorporated onto the top bar, we have seen this frame used infrequently so quite rare. The handle is firm and strong if slightly crease from storage but looks unused. The inside is pristine, clean in a mid tan suede with no marks or stains at all. The lining has lots of slip pockets, all edged in leather with the Lodix logo embossed in gold on the lining. The dainty little matching patent leather coin purse is gorgeous, in pristine condition and quite rare to find with the handbag after all this time.
These Lodix handbags in vibrant pearlised or patent leather colours are beautiful and very sought after but disappointingly not many have survived in excellent condition. This one is virtually pristine, at a glance looks a new handbag. It is in a very rare mottled finish and in a very wearable colour to complement all sorts of outfits. It's quality, from a high end brand with a beautiful and eye catching frame, what's not to love! It would be particularly suitable to wear for weddings, garden parties or anywhere a smart formal handbag is required and perfect to wear with either vintage or contemporary outfits.
