This is an absolutely gorgeous iconic 70s WA, Weymouth American carpet style bag with lucite faux tortoiseshell round handles. The chenille is in shades of browns beige and black in an iconic 70s design and colour palette. It's in a soft velour/chenille fabric. We love it. It is in excellent condtion to the outside and to the inside with just some fading to the lining. The lining is in WA's usual dark brown stiffened silky fabric which is clean with no rips or stains. there is one zipped pocket edged in gold. The lucite round handles are in excellent condition with no cracks or splits but do have some age and use related discolouration, not too noticable in use. There is a faux leather fold over brown flap which closes the bag with a popper, very secure. WA handbags have quite a following, the designs were fantastic with lots of interesting detail and they were all made from man made materials, including their leather look handbags so perfect for vegans! We've called it a Mary Poppins bag as it's the sort of bag which looks like it should accommodate lots of 'stuff', including a standard lamp!
The handbag is gorgeous, it's very tactile with the beautiful soft velvety feel chenille and it's big and bold but cute at the same time, It's eye catching, iconic 70s, of great quality and in a great size for work or for overnight, weekends etc and you can be sure that no one will be wearing the same! So ditch the tote and buy this, make a statement. Perfect (and original!) gift for her.
