An adorable dainty little vintage 50s leather and gold mesh evening or occasion bag from Rayne, by Royal appointment to her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth. It is superb quality as one would expect and in excellent condition. The exterior top and sides of the handbag are in gold leather, all in excellent condition with only minor scuffing or loss of gilt. The gold mesh is flawless throughout. The double handle, also in gold leather is in excellent strong condition with no cracking and minimal loss of gilt where it's been held (please see photos). The handbag opens by squeezing inwards the dainty gold clasp. Inside it is lined in pale gold ribbed satin which is in excellent clean condition save for a few small marks. There are two slip pockets edged in gold leather, a sign of quality and attention to detail and the Rayne label attached. This handbag has been used but infrequently and carefully. Please see photos.
