An absolutely fabulous vintage, heirloom quality Waldybag handbag, evening bag, in black silk velvet with matching silk coin purse on a gilt chain. It oozes old world glamour and can be worn for evening or special occasions. It has a gorgeous irridescent blue faux pearl clad lift up gilt clasp and faux pearl trimmed frame (all pearls intact and excellent condition) with a delicate gilt chain. The shape of this handbag is dainty and elegant, a bit like a wide dolly bag. It is in pristine condition, looks unused. The pearl lift up clasp is gorgeous, still glossy, with all original pearls still intact and works perfectly. There are no missing pearls to the frame. The original silk coin purse, in pristine unused condition and on a fine gold chain, is still present and intact. The slip pockets are edged in gilt trim, always adding a touch of glamour. The intricate gilt frame, where visible, has no loss of gilt. The Waldybag logo, one of the earliest designs, is embossed in gilt on the silk lining of the handbag, but even without seeing the logo one would know that this is quintessentially from the Waldybag brand because of the style and quality of the handbag which makes it clear to see why these handbags were worn by HM the late Queen Elizabeth back in the 50s and 60s. Sadly there are few of them left in this fabulous condition.
This silk velvet Waldybag would make a wonderful addition to a vintage or contemporary wardrobe, it is sheer glamour, oozes class and quality and is probably unique.
