This is a striking, large Mary Poppins style carpet bag in shades of mushroom/beige, pinky beige,brown and black in an iconic 70s design. It's in a soft velour/chenille fabric and we love it. It is in excellent overall condition. The lining is in WA's usual stiffened silky brown fabric, clean with just a few marks (please see photos). It has a zipped pocket and a slip pocket edged in gold, a feature of WA handbags. The WA label is still affixed to the lining. The handle is semi rigid brown faux leather covered. The gilt frame and fabulous round gilt clasp are gorgeous with minimal age related tarnish and mostly confined to the inner frame, again please see photos. WA handbags have quite a following, the designs are fantastic with lots of interesting detail and they are all made from man made materials, including their leather look handbags, so perfect for vegans! We've called this a Mary Poppins bag as it's the sort of bag which looks like it could accommodate lots of 'stuff', including a standard lamp!
