We love these Welsh wool woven tapestry handbags, mainly dating from the 70s and 80s. They are usually in rich colours and varied styles, always with Welsh wool woven into tapestry designs, with faux leather handles and sometimes side gussets on the Kelly bag styles. This one is in top handle style in a great size for all essentials but still small and dainty and in very wearable rich colours of red, mustard yellow, green, black and white on a chocolate brown background. It is made from one piece of wool tapestry covering the front base and back. It is in almost pristine condition both inside and out, one tiny pulled thread to the front barely visible in the design (please see photos). The handle and gussets are in brown faux leather, as is the covered top bar. The gilt clasp is still shiny. The handbag is lined in brown silky grosgrain with one slip pocket, the lining is immaculate, no brand label on the bag but a label confirmation it is 'Real Welsh Tapestry All Wool' on a background of the Welsh dragon emblem of the Welsh flag.
A super handbag, in eye-catching gorgeous rich deep colours and in excellent condition, something a bit different that can't be found in the shops. It will accessorise any outfit both casual or smart, contemporary or vintage. Perfect gift for her.
