A beautiful slim and elegant vintage 60s/70s Harrods black patent leather classic ladylike handbag, in a large size and with a glamorous red leather lining and matching red leather coin purse. What's not to love! It has slim, rolled leather twin handles (uncreased and look unused) no visible frame or traditional kisslock clasp, instead an attractive and unusual black leather 'belt buckle' to the front is the clasp which lifts up to open the bag. The handbag is in excellent condition but not pristine it has been used but well looked after, the patent leather is in excellent condition overall and at a glance looks perfect but with the odd scratch or tiny ding visible on close inspection (please see photos). The side gussets and base are patent leather with no marks or dings. The inside is gorgeous, exudes quality, in a deep red fine quality calf leather with the Harrods London name embossed in gilt on the leather label above the zipped pocket. The gilt frame does have some scratches from use but is still bright and shiny. The red leather is clean with no nasty marks or stains but it does have the ubiquitous pen marks and small dings from use (well it is vintage). There is a key ring attached to the zipped pocket and two slip pockets edged in patent leather, always a sign of quality. This would have been a very expensive handbag 'back in the day' as only the finest brands made it into the Harrods store, superb design and workmanship in premium materials.
A gorgeous Harrods high end handbag, of superb quality, in a classic design with the added twist of the belt buckle clasp feature to lift it out of the ordinary. At a glance the handbag looks 'new' and it oozes quality, it can be worn for even the smartest events as a bag of this quality, bought new today, would be into four figures. We love it.
