This is a very elegant handbag in a very matt wool felt (we think) in classic top handle evening or occasion bag style. It was made by well known Crown Lewis brand which created distinctive and attractive handbags in the USA in the 50s and 60s. Those handbags which remain in excellent condition are sought after for their attractive designs. This one is in excellent condition but not pristine as there is a very tiny flaw to the front in form of a tiny round hole (to the left bottom corner please see photos) where we think a little gilt motif may have been attached. There are very few marks to show it has been used. The outside of the bag has a textured design in a V or chevron shape and the sides are slightly padded. The top bar is gorgeous with the gilt still shily and no tarnish. The bottom and side gussets are all in similarly excellent condition as is the single handle which looks unused. The inside is quite lovely and looks very glamorous, it is lined in a black satin fabric, in excellent condition with the satin retaining it's sheen. There is a zipped pocket and two slip pockets one for a comb and the other for a mirror. The larger slip pocket is edged in gold which echoes the brand of the handbag 'Crown Lewis' which is embossed in gilt on the lining with the crown logo embossed in gilt above it.
This is a gorgeous handbag, it looks classy and elegant and because of it's size not too big or small it would suit day or evening wear. It would look super with any outfit as it is understated and we love the texture of the fabric. Could be worn day or evening and with vintage or contemporary outfits, a classic wardrobe staple we think this would be a great addition to your handbag collection.
