This is an absolutely adorable little vintage multicolored glitter fabric Waldybag handbag, perfect for evening or for special occasions. It has a pretty and dainty triangular shape with grogeous little bow shaped gilt and glitter clasp and fabric top handle in the same glitter fabric. The handbag has survived in excellent condition, pristine to the outside and it amazingly retains the silk matching coin purse on a gilt chain. There is minimal loss of glitter to the outside and no marks or stains, the edges are finished in a very narrow silk piping in immaculate condition no scuffing, even to corners. The inside has not fared quite so well with quite a lot of foxing (an orangey rust discolouration from age) to the pale pink silk lining and there are a few marks from use (please see photos). The lining has two full width slip pockets edged in gilt piping. The Waldybag logo, one of the earliest designs, is embossed in gilt on the silk lining. Even without seeing the logo one would know that this is quintessentially from the Waldybag brand because of the style and quality.
A cute little sparkly multicolour glitter Waldybag which would make a gorgeous addition to a vintage or contemporary wardrobe, it is glamour from a byegone age and as Waldybags were the luxe handbags of the glitterati and royalty 'back in the day' just think what events this may have attended, balls, the opera, opening nights... Yet it's understated and oozes class. Suitable for evening, smart or formal day wear, such as weddings, christenings etc, smart enough for Royal Ascot. It's a super little bag, very rare and we love it! Perfect gift for yourself or for her.
