This is an absolutely fabulous crocodile skin handbag in a rare dark forest green colour which was made in France for the department store Harrods, so the quality of the workmanship and materials is assured. It's in excellent condition, has been lightly used and very well looked after. The mirror finish, high shine crocodile skin which is on the front, back and handle of this in excellent condition with only very minor marks from age or use. The side gussets to the handbag are in a toning green leather to minimise the cracking that often occurs when crocodile skin is used on those areas. There is minimal loss of gilt to the attractive postman's lock and other fixings, where some of the gilt has worn to a silver colour (please see photos) but there is no tarnish. The handle, which extends to be worn as a shoulder bag if required, is firm and strong with no creasing from use or cracking of the crocodile skin. The handbag has semi rigid compartments with two separate inside compartments containing zipped and slip pockets. The handbag is lined in a very fine soft green calf leather, which is clean with no marks or stains, just a few very minor scuffs from use. Embossed in gilt on the leather lining is Made in France for Harrods.
A beautiful vintage Harrods crocodile skin handbag, of top quality and in excellent condition, what's not to love! It could be dressed up or down and is smart enough to wear anywhere or to any event, however exalted. It's quality at a glance and in a rare colour. A handbag of this quality bought new today would cost thousands. Perfect gift for her (or yourself!).
