This is a fabulous and rare 60s/70s green patent leather handbag or top handle bag in an elegant square shape with a dainty front top stitch detail and semi rigid handles. It was made in England by Widegate, a high end English brand that was sold through upmarket department stores including Harrods. It is in pristine condition, looks as if rarely if ever used and has been well stored, a high end handbag that is gorgeous and can be worn to any event, however smart.
The handles are uncreased and as new. The elegant gilt clasp in twisted rope design is still shiny. The patent leather is excellent with no scuffs or scratches of note, even to the base and the tan suede lining is in pristine condition, it is clean with no marks or stains with the slip pockets edged in matching green patent leather, always a sign of quality. There is also a zipped pocket to the lining and the Widegate name and logo is on the lining.
This is a super vintage Widegate handbag, top quality in a very sought after rare green colour. It's in an elegant shape square and a great size for all essentials. It is perfect for formal or smart events such as weddings, garden parties for day or evening but can also be dressed down for weekend wear and will add a pop of colour to any outfit, whether contemporary or vintage. We think it would make a great addition to any wardrobe, vintage or otherwise. So snap it up as these are becoming rare to find, especially in this condition.
