This is an absolutely exquisite handbag, in a rare deep blue pearlescent leather finish from Rayne, a high end renowned brand which held a royal warrant from the late Queen Elizabeth and also made the shoes for her Majesty's wedding in 1947. So if the brand was good enough for HM the Queen... This is in almost pristine condition, looks infrequently used and well looked after. It even has its original fabric dust bag! There are very minor indentations to the rear which are from the handles being stored against the bag, this will lessen with warmth, use and the handles not pressing against the leather. There is a pinpoint loss of colour to the bottom corners of the bag, visible on close inspection. The dark gilt, simple and elegant lozenge shaped lift up clasp is still shiny with no loss of gilt and no tarnish. The slim rolled twin handles are uncreased, look unused. The handbag is lined in a toning blue silk with slip pockets, a zipped pocket and a fitted key ring and it still retains a little matching pouch for change. The lining is in excellent clean condition, looks unused. The Rayne label is attached to the lining.
This is a fabulous handbag, a real find, classic and classy, eye catching and stylish and from a top end brand so is of excellent quality. It is quintissentially 60s/70s in colour and style and in almost immaculate condition to the exterior so what's not to love! It would add a touch of class to any outfit, vintage or contemporary and is perfect for weddings and other smart occasions,Royal Ascot, Goodwood, graduations etc. Handbags of this quality and condition don't come along often, especially in this very rare colour and a new handbag of this quality made today would cost a four figure sum.
Perfect gift for her.
It is 10" x 8." x 3"
