This is a very collectable silk scarf in excellent virtually pristine condition made in England, we presume for Jacqmar, and designed by renowned scarf designer Richard Allan. It is an amazing design of Knox House in Edinburgh, the scarf dating back to the 1960s we believe and it is absolutely gorgeous. It is in excellent quality silk and despite the age has no damage, pulled threads or foxing. It's in a colourway of blue, navy and taupe on an ivory background. The hems of the silk are hand rolled, always a sign of a quality scarf. The name Richard Allan is woven into the silk (visible in the main photo) and is on the care label which remains attached. Many of his designs are reproduced in limited edition silk scarves via the Richard Allan website, including a London scenes scarf in similar graphics and colours to this one
An outstanding silk scarf, of excellent quality, from a sought after British designer, with fantastic graphics. Many of Richard Alllan's designs are now sold framed for display as they are so exquisite. It's in gorgeous wearable colours and also very suitable to frame and hang on a wall particularly if you have Scottish or Edinburgh connections. We love it. Perfect gift for her or him!
It is 26" x 26"
