This is an absolutely gorgeous, striking, large and perfectly formed Mary Poppins style carpet bag in shades of taupe, orange and black in an iconic 70s patchwork style design and colour palette. It's in a soft velour/chenille fabric and we love it. It is in excellent condition throughout. The lining is in WA's usual stiffened silky fabric, clean with little evidence of use just the odd mark. It has a zipped pocket and slip pocket edged in gold, a feature of WA handbags. The WA label is still affixed to the lining. The handle is semi rigid lucite which looks like a stick of barley sugar! It's gorgeous, a real feature of the bag and with no cracks or splits. The gilt frame and fabulous big gilt chunky clasp are gorgeous with very minimal age or use related tarnish, still bright and shiny. WA handbags have quite a following, the designs were fantastic with lots of interesting detail and they were all made from man made materials, including their leather look handbags so perfect for vegans! We've called this a Mary Poppins bag as it's the sort of bag which looks like it should accommodate lots of 'stuff', including a standard lamp!
