This is an absolutely beautiful vintage handbag, in a glorious rich glossy, what we would call a toffee shade (but on the box it is called 'Mink') of crocodile skin, which is now quite hard to find, especially in such superb almost pristine condition. The handbag is made by The Martin, a top quality range of handbags which were sold through high end department stores such as Harrods. This is in an unusual long slim and elegant style with the added details of a pull tab to the front and an attractive shaped gilt clasp. There is a single top handle which is in pristine condition, uncreased and looks unused. The crocodile skin of the handbag is in pristine condition too, even to the base, with no evidence of age or use and a high shine mirror finish to the skin. There is a crocodile covered frame and and the gilt clasp, with minimal signs of wear, is still bright and shiny. The interior lining of the handbag is tan suede leather which is clean with no mmarks or stains and minimal evidence of use. The original crocodile skin trimmed suede coin purse is still with the handbag. There is a large zipped pocket with crocodile pull to the zipper, a large slip pocket behind it and a small crocodile edged slip pocket on the opposite side. The original tags are with the handbag and the brand label is fixed to the lining.
This is a fabulous handbag, about as good as it gets for a crocodile skin handbag whether vintage or new and one of these made today would cost several thousand pounds. It's from a collectable high end brand The Martin, exudes quality, is in a rare and rich colour which is vibrant and glossy, what's not to love.
