This is a very eye catching and unusually gorgeous 50s/60s handbag in faux snakeskin patent leather from Holmes Norwich, in a rare rich green/ bronze/gold colour. It is in excellent condition with few signs of use or age. The handles are firm and strong and the gilt frame and clasp are still shiny. We have this style of handbag in other colours and they are very popular, a bit out of the ordinary with the mottled colouring and attractive details. We particularly like the raised top bar and clasp. The inside of the handbag is lined in a cream grosgrain fabric which is in excellent clean condition, looks unused save for a slightly darker oblong shape to the base of the lining which looks like it may have had a lable of some sort at one time, barely noticeable, please see photos. The Holmes name and logo are stamped in gilt above the slip pocket.
A very stylish 60s/70s vintage Holmes of Norwich handbag, in a great colour, in an elegant design and from a sought after quality brand. What's not to love! It would accessorise smart and formal outfits, so suitable for weddings, the races etc and at a pinch could also be dressed down for more casual wear, perfect for vintage events such as Goodwood Revival or Twinwood as well as to perk up a contemporary outfit. It is a good size for carrying all essentials and a bit more. Fabulous condition, great bag, great gift for her.
It is 10.5" x 7" x 3"
