This is a very eye catching 60s/70s leather patchwork clutch bag in a patchwork zigzag design in black and white, very reminiscent of the 60s with the colour scheme, think Mary Quant and Carnaby Street. The leather is in excellent condition, even the white leather and looks unused but it does have some diminution of gilt to the frame from age although it looks as though it's had little use. The back of the handbag is made of soft black leather with no scratches or scuffs and minimal creasing. There is also black leather covering the front top bar of the handbag and a leather insert on the gilt bar, a nice detail and a simple little gilt clasp. There is a good quality attractive long gilt chain which can be folded inside the bag to use it as a clutch or out to use as a shoulder bag. The inside is in good clean condition but it does suffer from a fine dust which is the inner card lining disintegrating through age and filtering through the fabric lining into the bag. It does not affect the integrity of the bag but would need a good shake out from time to time to remove any of the fine dust. The lining is in black grosgrain with the Jane Shilton name woven into the fabric, which is clean with no marks or stains.
This is a gorgeous, slim and elegant clutch bag from quality brand Jane Shilton and in very wearable funky colours. The clutch bag is stylish and perfect for all manner of occasions, smart enough for formal events or vintage events or festivals and can be worn dressed down with casual wear. It is of great quality and very eye catching. A perfect addition to the handbag wardrobe and priced to reflect the dust.
