This is an absolutely gorgeous, eye catching large chenille carpet bag in shades of golden beige and rust in a gorgeous 70s design and in understated colours. It's in a soft velour/chenille fabric and we love it, not as zany in design as some others of the same type of carpet bag, it's in a more restrained pattern fabric, not disimilar to the Fendi logo. The chenille is in excellent condition there is just one tiny loss of chenille to the back (please see photos) other than that it's in excellent condition, the chenille still clean and glossy. Whilst we believe it may be made by Weymouth American as it is almost identical in style to items made by WA, because it has a completely different lining, in that the lining is not the usual WA brown silky lining, we cannot be sure. This bag has a soft mid brown/rust flocked fabric lining which is clean with no marks or stains, there are no slip pockets just one big full width zipped pocket and empty space for all your stuff. The handle is rigid metal and covered in a rust/tan faux leather, slightly bent which gives it a quirky look. The gilt frame and fabulous big gilt chunky clasp are gorgeous with very minimal age related tarnish to the edges of the frame inside not visible in use (please see photos). WA handbags have quite a following, the designs were fantastic with lots of interesting detail and they were all made from man made materials, including their leather look handbags so perfect for vegans! We've called this and similar styles a Mary Poppins bag as it's the sort of bag which looks like it should accommodate massive amounts of 'stuff', including a standard lamp! This one is slightly more understated than the usual.
The handbag is stunning, it's tactile, big and bold but cute and dainty at the same time, It's very eye catching, iconic 70s, in a rare design, of great quality and in a great size for work or for overnight/weekends and you can be sure that no one will be wearing the same! We love it! Perfect gift for her
