This is a gorgeous scarf commemorating the coronation of HM the Queen. It is in still vibrant colours, amazing for a 70 year old scarf. It is in excellent condition with only the odd couple of marks of foxing to the fabric (please see photos). The scarf is otherwise in excellent condition and has no holes or snags and is bright and clean with no stains or evidence of use. The scarf has a central picture of the Queen's coat of arms surrounded by a border of the coronation throne, a further border of lots of the Queen's horsemen and the four corners have ER for Elizabeth Regina in red and gold. The outside border is in a pale green which sets off the royal blues, reds, white and golds of the main body of the scarf beautifully. The whole scarf has feeling of brightness and energy. Like most of these scarves, it was not a high end item at the time of the coronation and has done very well to last this long and in such fantastic condition. Perfect for re enactments or to wear whenever there is a royal event such as the current Platinum Jubilee this year. It is made of a viscose type silky fabric.
A great souvenir of the coronation and fabulous to display for the jubilee but also very wearable 50s chic. We love it.
