This is a gorgeous little evening bag in black and silver brocade which is silk lined in oyster silk with a matching mirror. It is in excellent condition, the only wear seems to be to the mirror which has some age related discolouration. The rest of the handbag both inside and out is beautiful. The fabric is nicely ruched and gathered at the frame which makes the handbag quite full and surprisingly capacious for a small bag. The silvertone frame and chain are similarly in excellent condition with no tarnish just the slightest discolouration through age rather than use. The chain, in common with many handbags of the 40s/50s is fixed to either side of the frame. The clasp works well, no issues. The inside is lovely, in a silk satin which is remarkably clean for the age of this handbag. Obviously not used or very little used.
A gorgeous little handbag of excellent quality which would be perfect to accessorise a plain black evening gown but equally would add a dash of something old to a wedding gown with the delicate silver on the brocade, 'something old...'
