This is a very elegant handbag of excellent quality from our favourite brand Waldybag. It is in excellent condition but not quite pristine. The outside of the handbag, both the front and back are excellent condition with no marks or wear but the base is a little rumpled with some rubbing to the piping around the base. The handle is in excellent clean condition and the gilt frame has minimal wear or tarnish. The inside of the handbag is lined in navy blue silk which has seen quite a bit of use. It doesn't have any major marks or stains but the bottom of the lining has clearly been used and we are thinking that because the base is rumpled there may have been an element of less than great storage too. The gold edged slip pockets look a little greener than gold with age, c'est la vie. On the plus side is the the little coin purse still on it's original chain, we always think it's amazing when we find the original coin purses with these handbags. The Waldybag logo, the oldest version, is embossed in gilt on the lining.
A gorgeous little handbag which is suitable to be worn as an evening bag but also with an 'occasion' outfit for weddings etc, it looks a quality handbag and is an unusual style in the modern age so adds a vintage twist to any outfit. Any noticeable wear is fortunately where it cannot easily be seen (base and bottom of the lining) so it is certainly good enough to be worn for smart events notwithstanding this. Borderline whether it is gift quality, depending upon the recipients view of what constitutes 'vintage'. We'd be happy to receive it as a gift, this quality of handbag today would cost a small fortune...
