This is an absolutely fabulous vintage silk Waldybag handbag for evening or special occasions. It is a gorgeous squareish shape with wide soft silk handles and gold silk piping to edges and clip over clasp. Luxury and old world glamour. The shape of this handbag is elegant and understated whilst being in a very good size for all essentials. The handbag has survived in excellent condition with just minor indentations to the exterior silk which should lessen with use and proper storage. The lift up clasp with a simple popper works perfectly. The handbag is lined in black silk and the fitted silk coin purse inside is still intact with the lining clean with little signs of use. The slip pockets are edged in gold silk and the gilt frames to the bag and the purse are still shiny with no tarnish. The Waldybag logo is embossed in gilt on the silk lining but even without seeing the logo one would know that this is quintessentially from the Waldybag brand because of the style and quality. The sides of the bag are semi rigid and owing to bad storage it has rather a squashed appearance when looked at from the side but being padded out with tissue (or indeed all your essential'stuff') should see this remedied. Other than that there is a little wear at all with only minor scuffs to the silk exterior, as mentioned above.
This silk Waldybag would make a fabulous addition to a vintage or contemporary wardrobe, it is sheer glamour yet understated and it oozes class. It could be used for evening or for smart or formal day wear such as weddings, Ascot etc. It would look super against a gold silk 'mother of the bride'/groom' outfit, and also add a bit of glamour, something a bit different from the run of the mill 'occasion' bags and no one else will be wearing the same. A perfect gift for her. They just don't make them like this any more
