Another on trend skin handbag in very good condition. This one is not home grown it comes from Zimbabwe (formerly Rhodesia) from a company called Umtali leather which was merged with another company in the early 70s to become Belmont Leather. We know little about the company other than it specialised in making handbags out of exotic skins and was in financial difficulty before being taken over. This is in very good condition, it looks unused both inside and out and the only odd tiny scuff, is from storage rather than use. The dark tan leather is excellent, the gilt trim is still shiny and the inside suede is absolutely pristine. The colour is slightly more pink than appears in the photos. The fur to the front is soft and clean but has lost the fur in a couple of places (please see photos). There is a leather 'pull' to the front to open the handbag thus protecting the skin from wear.
A striking, unusual and rare vintage handbag which is nevertheless highly fashionable at the moment. It could be dressed up or down and is a decent size for all essentials. There won't be many others sporting a handbag like this over the Winter holidays. Perfect for a gift. The price reflects the loss os fur to the front.
It is 10" x 8.5" x 3"
