This is a gorgeous little back crocodile handbag which we are pretty confident was made by Riviera, notwithstanding the fact that it has no brand label on it (for those new to BSV, Riviera was a high end English brand based in London). It is a dainty size with a fabulous gilt clasp which takes this out of the average croc bag category into a very covetable 'must have in case another one doesn't come up' category. The handbag is in excellent condition, not mint, with skins which are still glossy and supple, no splits or cracks even to the handle. The base of the handbag is protected by four gilt feet which saves wear to the base. The rolled top bar is crocodile covered with the gorgeous clasp, gilt end finials and two further gilt semi circles which add to the individuality and attractiveness of this handbag. Some minor tarnish to the gilt but not sufficient to spoil the look of the handbag. It is lined in elegant beige leather which is clean and free of stains (even pen marks) but does have some indentations from use. There are two crocodile edged slip pockets and a zipped pocket.
This is a very elegant 'ladylike' handbag in a dainty size which would accessorise any smart or formal, day or evening engagement. Black crocodile is perennially popular, not as easy to source as brown or tan crocodile handbags, especially in excellent condition and this particular example has the adorable little clasp which we love. It would look stunning worn with a little red frock or Chanel suit (which you can afford by saving money buying vintage crocodile rather than a 'new' handbag) and we can envisage it with a sparkly little cocktail frock. Individual and gorgeous. Can't buy this on the high street.
