This is an absolutely gorgeous handbag, in a rich caramel coloured crocodile skin which is in excellent, almost pristine condition. It is also unusual in that the shape of the handbag is different from the norm in that it has an oval base rather than the customary rectangle shape and the sides of the handbag are also curved. The handbag still has the original mirror and matching coin purse. The handbag is made by Fassbender a top end and collectable vintage English brand. The skins to the outside are in superb condition, no scuffs, scratches or splits to the skin which still retains it's high gloss shine. The handle is uncreased and, in common with most Fassbender exotic skin bags, is lined underneath with leather for strength. The gilt hardware is in mint condition, the clasp is shiny with no scratches or tarnish and the top bar is rolled and covered in crocodile skin. Unusually for a Fassbender handbag there are studs to the base of the handbag rather than the more customary gilt bars to protect the base. The inside of the handbag is in similarly lovely condition with a medium beige fine suede lining, which is clean with no marks or stains. The matching purse is still with the handbag as is the original mirror, both signs that the handbag has been very well looked after. The Fassbender label is sewn into the lining.
This is a slim and elegant handbag, of superb design and materials and in fantastic condition from a top end British brand. It would look great worn with anything. It could be worn for weddings or other formal occasions, however smart, and is quality at a glance. It is also in a great size which will accommodate all essentials. The colour makes it very versatile, it would complement pale creams and gold but also add a lighter touch to the darker shades of navy, brown, black etc. Perfect for a gift.
