This is a super quality evening bag which is dainty, elegant and in excellent condition. It was owned by a lady who was once a features editor at Vanity Fair in the 50s and who we understand also worked at Vogue and on other 'glossies' in the 50s and 60s. Imagine the glamorous occasions this has graced! We also have other bags and long suede evening gloves owned by the lady, all understated and elegant. So, this bag has been used but the outside is in excellent condition, the short gilt chain is untarnished as is the intricate gilt frame which is really pretty. The bag has piping to the corners and separately stitched base panel, a sign of the quality of the handbag. The inside is lined an oyster satin which has one watermark (actually probably a champagne mark knowing the lady!) visible in the photos, otherwise it is clean. There is a little mirror in the slip pocket which is backed in the same satin as the lining, again clean but the mirror itself is quite fogged, very flattering after a few glasses of fizz...
This is a lovely little bag, a traditional 'old money' evening bag once owned by a formidable lady of fashion. It is timeless and elegant and would be suitable to wear for smart day or evening events and add a touch of class.
It is 8" x 6" x 1"
