This is a gorgeous and very striking vintage 60s snakeskin handbag, bought in Oxford Street in the mid 60s. It is in a rare red python snakeskin and leather. It has the distinctive snakeskin to the back and front of the handbag with bright red leather side gussets, base and the underneath of the handle. It has a navy leather lining and was made by high end brand Wiklorbag, made in England. It is in a stylish square boxy shape and it appears to have had very little use. It is in almost immaculate condition, with only very minimal age wear and minor lifting of scales (please see photos). The gilt clasp is still very shiny with just one spot to the top where the gilt has scratched off. The snakeskin handle is firm and strong with no creases and little evidence of wear. The handbag has two outside slip pockets (useful for tickets, invitations etc) lined in a taupe silky fabric which is clean with just the odd scuff from use. The handbag is lined in a gorgeous dark navy calf leather which is in excellent clean condition just small dings from use. The handbag has the Wilkorbag label still attached.
This is a gorgeous vintage handbag, which is unusual and increasingly rare to find, especially in such excellent condition, it has obviously been well looked after. It is a dainty handbag and very attractive, it could be worn for day or evening and all year round, accessorising both Winter and Summer outfits. Perfect for weddings or other special occasions, as well as adding a twist to casual outfits. It is in a colour which is eminently wearable and versatile. It would make a perfect gift.
