This is a superb vanity or train case of exceptional quality and in pristine condition. It was made in England by high end leather goods brand Tanner Krolle which is still in existence creating beautiful handbags and luggage in premium quality leathers including custom and bespoke items. The most recent incarnation of this case is bespoke and costs from £2,400. An image of this particular style of vanity case is on the company website in a photo of a range of items produced in the 70s/80s http://www.tannerkrolle.com .This case looks as though it has rarely, if ever been used with the combination still set to zero. There are no scuffs or scratches to the exterior and no creasing or wear to the handle. The base is protected by gilt studs. The matching name tag remains with the case. The gilt hardware is as new with no abrasions or tarnish. The inside is in as fantastic condition of the outside. It is lined in a burgundy watered silk fabric with a lift out tray. There is a removable vanity mirror in the lid, secured with leather straps and poppers. There is some foxing to this mirror but it is the original and still useable so we have no replaced it but it would be simple to replace if wished. To three sides of the case there are ruched pockets, waterproof lined, with the fourth side having elasticated fabric loops for securing items in the case. The bottom of the case is covered in a protective clear waterproof covering which also covers the base of the lift out tray. The entire lining is in pristine condition, looks unused, which is most unusual as most vintage vanity cases have at least minor marks to the inside even if they look pristine on the outside. The leather label with the Harrods and Tanner Krolle brand names is fixed to the lining.
