This is a stunning leather handbag, purse, from the 70s, a snakeskin and leather bag in a 'starburst' design, it's a long, slim and elegant handbag. It is very rare and eye catching in glorious shades of brown and burnt orange with a black rigid leather covered handle and very attractive gilt accents and clasp. Clips inside to attach a shoulder chain if required. The back, sides and rigid handle of the handbag are a glossy black leather in a mock lizard design. The handbag is in almost pristine little used condition, the snakeskin to the front is in excellent condition, it has not dried out with age, it is still glossy and the leather has no marks or scuffs from storage.
The rigid handle is firmly attached and strong and the gilt trim is still bright and shiny with minimal scratches. There's and absolutely gorgeous leather covered cylindrical clasp. The handbag lining is a beige suede with a zipped pocket and is almost immaculate, no pen marks but just a slight darkening, please see the photos. We believe it is possibly made by Ackery, a sought after vintage brand, but there is no label to the lining to confirm this, but we have had very similar handbags made by Ackery and Eros, both quality manufacturers and is a very well made and high end quality handbag which is a real statement piece. The gilt trims to the handles are a a particularly fabulous feature of the handbag and there are clips inside for the addition of a shoulder chain or black strap if wished ( not with the bag)
This is a fabulous and very eye-catching long slim handbag, purse which is a rare find, especially in this condition, so quite a sought after piece. It would work for smart occasions where an upmarket and stylish handbag is called for and it could be used for work as an individual and quirky twist to a formal suit. It's not especially capacious but punches above it's weight in the style stakes!
It is 13" x 7" x 1.5"
