This is a gorgeous vintage bag in red lizard skin from the 1940s, 1950s, which is absolutely fabulous. The red lizard skin is still glossy and the slim style makes it perfect to use as a glamorous evening bag, or evening purse, as well as a day bag for smart or formal occasions. It is in a ladylike style with a tab front and a beautiful oyster satin lining which is in excellent condition with lots of slip pockets and lovely attention to detail including a fixed coin purse inside.This gorgeous vintage bag is in very good + condition.
The red lizard skin to the exterior of this vintage bag is still in excellent condition, it is supple with no cracking or splits and is still very glossy and gorgeous to look at. The twin handles are fine with no issues, they are strong with no cracks or splits. The clasp and gilt frame have some tarnish and loss of gilt through age and use (please see the photos) this is why the otherwise excellent condition bag is vgc+. The lining is a pale oyster satin fabric which is clean with no marks or stains, just the odd mark to show it's been used. The lining has lots of slip pockets including a lipstick slip pocket. The fixed inner purse is gorgeous, half satin and half suede lined.It retains the original mirror in waxed paper sleeve.
It's an absolutely adorable little vintage bag in a glorious colour (red lizard bags are very sought after) which would be perfect to wear for special occasions, both for day or for evening, a really eye catching little handbag. In pristine condition it would cost twice this so get the look for less. Even though it has the tarnish and wear to the frame, we think a vintage lover would be delighted to have it as a gift.
