This is a really beautiful handbag from our favourite top end vintage handbag brand, Waldybag, a brand worn by HM the Queen in the brand's heyday. It is rare in that it is in grey, there are far fewer vintage handbags in this colour than other colours in most brands, including Waldybag. It is quite exquisite, it looks quality at a glance and is in almost pristine condition. The only signs of use are slight scuff marks to the silk lining. The smooth grain leather to the outside is pristine with no scratches or dings and only the merest marks on close scrutiny, probably from storage rather than use. The handle is uncreased, looks unused and the gilt hardware still shiny and untarnished. The frame to the handbag is leather covered. The gilt clasp is very pretty and dainty but it is the gilt circular motif and leather panel to the front which takes this out of the 'very nice handbag' into the 'seriously nice handbag' category. It is very rare and probably unique, we haven't seen another Waldybag in the same design as this, which is another feature we love about Waldybags, always something new to find. Inside the handbag the lining is a grape coloured silk with the original mirror still in it's waxed paper sleeve and the dainty little silk coin purse to match. As stated there are some scuff marks to the silk lining from items being put in and taken out of the handbag but there are no marks or stains and no dreaded pen marks. The inside of the little coin purse is pristine ivory silk.
This is a gorgeous Waldybag, small and dainty and we love it. It is elegant, stylish and oozes class. If there are no outfits in your wardrobe which will suit this handbag we think it is definitely worth going out to buy one. Smart enough to wear anywhere, to the usual round of smart or formal occasions, weddings etc and we are sure that no one will have a more stylish handbag. This quality of handbag if made today would cost a four figure sum and it looks every penny of it.
