This is a 60s/70s vintage handbag in excellent condition which is unusual because of the two tone colour scheme. We had a similar handbag in dark brown and beige which we sold and this is the only other two tone we have found for some time. This handbag has had very little use as there is hardly any sign of wear to the exterior patent. The patent itself is not super shiny, an unusual almost 'matt' patent, if that is not a contradiction in terms. There are no scuffed corners or scratches to the patent just one very faint small pen mark to the front. The handles are firm and strong with no creases or wear. The beige section of the front is delineated by a thin band of gilt which matches the gilt of the frame and clasp, all of which are in excellent untarnished condition. The inside of the handbag is lined in a pale beige grosgrain silky fabric which is clean with no marks or stains. There is one large slip pocket above which is the label "'K' Handbags". Although it is not stated we believe this handbag was made in the UK.
A very elegant Kelly bag, an iconic example of 60s/70s fashion. This handbag would accessorise Autumn vintage fashions very nicely with it's autumnal colours which would brighten up a little brown or rust suit. It is quite a 'Mrs Maisel' or 'Mad Men' handbag and we can see it worn with a very fitted wiggle dress and heels or a swing coat. Perfect for special occasions but also for casual lunches or evening events.
