This is a gorgeous jet black raffia style woven bag, from the 50s 60s, it's vintage with a longer than usual handle (fits nicely over the shoulder) with postman's lock gilt clasp,it's largish and capacious. Very dolce vita and made in Italy. The back and sides of the handbag are made from a woven man made fabric that looks like raffia. There is a squarish boxy shape to the handbag which is in great condition has obviously had very little use and been carefully looked after. The "raffia" is in excellent condition, still glossy with no snags and the gilt postman's lock clasp is shiny with no tarnish or loss of shine. The handbag lining is black ribbed grosgrain, which is clean, with no marks or stains and there is a slip pocket for a mirror. There are four gilt studs to protect the base of the handbag. It's a glamorous handbag, very Audrey Hepburn but also a great size for all essentials
A glamorous and very useable raffia style woven handbag, in jet black, which is quite rare to find, especially in this largish size, with a longer than usual handle. It's perfect for Spring/Summer and would work for most occasions from work (add a quirky touch to a little business suit), to evening wear.
