This is a super handbag in excellent condition from Mappin & Webb and made in England. It is in a rich caramel lizard skin which is in almost pristine condition with no wear to the outside and no drying out, splitting or cracking of the lizard skin, even to the base. The attractive clasp has a lizard insert and the gilt on the clasp is still in excellent condition with just the hint of discolouration from age. The handle is firm and strong with no splits or cracks just a few creases as the lizard skin to the handle is quite soft and semi rigid rather than rigid. The inside is in excellent but not pristine condition. It looks clean and there are no marks or stains but on inspection there is a smudge to one area where the pale beige suede lining has darkened slightly. There is a zipped pocket in good working order, two slip pockets and a lipstick pocket in the lining with the Mappin & Webb label sewn into the lining near the frame. As described in the title this handbag is large but not massive, it is one of the larger Mappin & Webb handbags, so perfect for day wear as it accommodates a lot more of you essential personal belongings, particularly capacious for hankies for weddings.
